Dromore are in the ‘Money

DROMORE travelled to Ballymoney on sat past to resume their Qualifying League campaign following their disappointing exit to Ballyclare in the Towns Cup the previous Saturday.

Bekker had named a strong team with Buzz Stewart, Stu Russell and Ryan Wilson returning to the team and Frazer Mulholland returning to hooker following his match at blindside flanker.

Dromore began well and took an early lead through McGregor which Steenson converted, but the home team had periods of pressure and finished the half stronger and lead 8-7 at the break.

The locals came out after the break and dominated the half with great kicking by Cobb and scored two great tries trough Cobb himself and stalwart Harshaw before Ali Kinghan secured the bonus point win with a fine late try from the wing.

Dromore enjoyed a good 32-8 win against a team which had in recent years been hard for them to beat.

President Denis Savage said, “It was great to come to Ballymoney and win. I knew we would because the team spirit is good within the camp.

“We now have a busy week with Portadown coming to us on Wednesday evening and then we entertain CIYMS on the Saturday.

Dates for the diary: Dromore v Portadown Wednesday March 6; Dromore v CIYMS Saturday March 9.
