The locals started the match the sharper of the two teams zipping into tackles and knocking the ball about well.

After the good start it was no surprise when they took the lead with 15 minutes played. A good through ball released Jess on the right and he burst through at pace. His cross was perfect and it fell to the feet of the in-form Aaron Thompson and he made no mistake with a simple tap in.

The expected fight back from Dunmurry never happened and Dromara continued to cause them pressure with O’Connor, Thompson and Jess causing the Dunmurry defence loads of problems with their pace and movement and all that was lacking was that bit of composure.

Dromara came out in the second half determined to kill this game of and Johnson and McDonagh in the Dromara midfield were winning their battles and this allowed Thompson and O’Connor to continue to cause problems.

With 10 minutes of the second half gone Dromara made it 2-0. Thompson took advantage of some hesitancy in the Dunmurry defence and he was left with another easy tap.

Again, Dromara could have expected Dunmurry to come back at them but this never materialised and Dromara continued to be the team calling all the shots.

Dromara introduced Lee Feeney and his movement and trickery added another dimension to the attack and it was not long before he was getting in on the scoring act.

Good play on the right again by Jess saw his cross fall to Feeney and he took one touch before beating a defender and then blasting the ball past the helpless Rec keeper. This was the end of the scoring but certainly not the action.

With the match almost over an off the ball incident saw the Dunmurry number nine headbutt Dromaras James McDonagh twice and this resulted in a bit of melee. To the Dromaras players and supporters astonishment, McDonagh saw red for his part in the incident. Once the dust had settled, Dromara played out time to claim the win.

A good all round team performance saw Dromara never really troubled in a win which was more comfortable than they could ever have expected.
