Dobson’s congratulations to karate players

ULSTER Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson has congratulated those local Karate players who won awards at the Northern Ireland Karate Championships which was held in Banbridge Leisure Centre recently.

The Upper Bann MLA ,who presented the awards at the prize ceremony, said: “As the Banbridge Karate Club was formed by Mr Ken Lundy (3rd Dan) in 1978, it has a long heritage in the town and through the dedication of the coaches and members the club has brought forward many champions over the years.

“I would like to especially congratulate those local karate players who won medals on Saturday – they have done their club and town proud. I know from speaking with members that you all trained so hard and I commend your dedication to your sport.

“I look forward to hearing of future successes from this local club.”
