The first half started out well with both teams looking very evenly matched. Bann’s attacking game was strong and proved to be putting the Dromore defence under a lot of pressure.

The Bann forwards made a number of threatening runs towards the goal putting some good passes across the circle which they were unlucky not to convert. The midfielders Jemma Lyle, Rachel Jess and Jessica Hassan worked very hard throughout the match to support the front line and manged to break down the majority of Dromore’s attacking play.

Dromore came out stronger in the second half break and managed a very threatening run towards the circle, however with strong defending from all of Bann’s backline, in particular Rebecca Dickson as sweeper, meant that the ball was cleared before entering the circle.

Dromore kept attacking in the second half and won 3 short corners which were cleared efficiently by Bann’s defence.

Dromore did however make a shot a goal which was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Roya Loughlin. Despite Dromore’s attacks Bann remained on form and managed two more strong attacks up the wing but were unable to find the goal, leaving the match to finish in a scoreless draw.

Banbridge Ladies would like thank Dromore for a very good match and also George Lavery for umpiring on Saturday.
