DERBY DAY FOR GERS AND VILLAGE

BANBRIDGE Rangers and Seapatrick will do battle in the first derby of the Intermediate A season tonight.

The two teams will meet at Havelock Park (6.30pm kick-off) keen to secure their first wins of the season.

Rangers are the division’s newcomers and secured a point against Crewe United in a 1-1 draw on Friday night.

But for Seapatrick it was a different tale as championship hopefuls Tandragee Rovers turned them over in a 2-0 win.

The Cheney Park side will be hoping that ace marksman Colin Cousins can shake off a knock picked up during the draw with Crewe in order to be fit for tonight’s game.

- Rangers’ August fixtures are as follows: Banbridge Rangers vs Seapatrick, Tuesday 14 (away) League; Banbridge Rangers vs Lisanally Rangers, Saturday 18 (away) Bob Radcliffe Cup; Banbridge Rangers vs Lisanally Rangers, Tuesday 21 (home) Mid Ulster Cup; Banbridge Rangers Swifts vs Moneyslane Reserves, Wednesday 22 (away) League; Banbridge Rangers vs Camlough Rovers, Saturday 25 (away) Premier Cup; Banbridge Rangers vs Ambassadors, Friday 31 (home) Marshall Cup.

Senior Training: Banbridge Rangers have four senior teams with the First Team being complimented by a Reserves, Swifts and Under 18s. Training for all off these teams takes place at Cheney Park on Monday and Thursday evenings between 6.30pm and 8.00pm.

Junior Training: Banbridge Rangers Youth teams have started training on Thursday evenings throughout August at Cheney Park from 6-7pm. These sessions are designed to bring players back after the summer break before full training resumes for the start of September. All training sessions cost only £1 at Banbridge Rangers with the growing coaching base concentrating on the enjoyment of the game. All boys and girls from 5 years old up to 14 years old are able to come along any Thursday night to join in.

Soccer Busters: Banbridge Rangers are running their very popular Soccer Buster competition to coincide with the opening round of matches in the English Premier League. It costs £10 to enter the prediction game whereby you stay in the competition by picking one team to win their game in each round of the league games. The Last Man Standing picks up a winners pot of £500. If you think your prediction skills are up to the test then pick up an entry form off any senior player or committee member during the week.
