Defeats for Seconds and Sixths

Dromore Ladies Seconds 0

DROMORE Ladies Seconds welcomed Ballymena to Ferris Park for another league game.

The game started off well in Dromore’s favour with the hosts dominating most of the play. Many chances appeared on the left hand side of the pitch with Nicole Laverty, Claire Morton and Chloe Glover making space and providing attacking runs for the team. Unfortunately Dromore just could not place the ball in the back of the net.

Ballymena then had a breakthrough and took their chances making the score 1-0.

Dromore were determined to get that needed goal back but to no avail. Dromore’s players managed to hold of Ballymena until the last 10 minutes of the game and were just unlucky to concede another two goals leaving the score at 4-0 to finish.

Dame of the game went to Nicole Laverty for her hard work throughout the match and effort up the left hand side of the pitch. Thanks also goes to Julie Anderson for her Umpiring skills.

In a scrappy first half, Dromore failed to find their usual form and despite a good effort by the defence and a number of excellent saves by Emma Rainey managed to put two in the net by half time.

In the second half Rainey kept up the pace making Dromore’s defence work hard to keep the ball out of the circle. The final score was 3-0 to Rainey.

Dame of the game goes to Jenny Winston for her cool skilful approach when under pressure.

Thanks to Lynne Nesbit for her umpiring skills.
