Defeat to Whites

AFTER their terrific first half to season Town Juniors Under-16s continued their recent run of poor results with a 4-0 defeat to a very useful Distillery side.

The Lisburn outfit began strongly and went one up after only three minutes, but the Juniors responded well putting their opponents under a lot of pressure. David Gray hit the post directly from a corner and Declan Loy had an excellent long range shot well saved by the keeper.

Unfortunately against the run of play Distillery got a second goal with a good header from a corner but Town almost got back back into the game early in the second half when Declan Loy put a great ball through to Stephen McCavitt but his shot just went over the bar.

The Whites got a fourth from another corner and in truth could possibly have got another two but for more excellent goalkeeping from Stuart Wilson, who is actually the Under-15s keeper but is currently playing for the Under-16s as regular keeper William Maxwell has been unwell.

Banbridge will be looking to turn the tables next week as they play Distillery again in the first round of the Lisburn Junior Invitational Cup.
