United could have taken the lead only for their striker to rattle over the bar from close range. Kyle Scott had a great chance for Slane but the keeper saved well.

The home side took the lead when a shot was parried out to the feet of the striker who hammered the ball into the roof of the net for the opening goal.

Scott and Gareth Hamilton went close for Slane but the home side hit their second goal against the run of play. Neil Hanna and Gareth Hamilton were combining well in the middle of the park and the busy Scott up front was a real handful for the United defence.

Scott was played in and he found himself in with just the keeper, he rounded the challenge and slotted home for Slane’s first goal.
