Dean and Knox fire in two apiece in Threes victory

Buoyed by their excellent win from their first game, the Thirds welcomed Luke Roleston into the squad together with Matthew Knox and Hector de Courcy-Wheeler.

Knox would go on two net twice, as would Gary Dean.

Bann got off to the perfect start scoring with the first attack of the game.

After taking the pass back ,the ball was worked down the right side of the pitch before releasing Knox down the centre.

The Harlequins defence parted and Knox raced through to slip the ball under the onrushing keeper.

Bann continued to control the early exchanges with Norris and Reid working well down the left side of the pitch.

It wasn’t long before Bann doubled their lead when Norris delivered the ball into the circle and Dean was on hand to finish from close range.

Harlequins started to find their stride towards the end of the half and saw a shot just go past the right post.

Bann were hunting for their third goal and were unlucky to see several shots well saved by the Harlequins keeper.

Harlequins pressed from the start of the second half seeking to get back into the game with Bann struggling to find the same fluidity they played with in the first half.

Roleston in the Bann goal saved well from a Harlequins snap shot and the defence stood strong to defend a short corner.

Bann finally got going and after good play down the right, the ball was worked into the circle and a Bann player was upended with a penalty stroke being awarded.

Knox stepped up to slot the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal.

Bann kept the pressure on the Harlequins defence and scored a fourth when Dean found himself free in the circle and fired the ball ruthlessly into the Harlequins goal.

Harlequins were unlucky not to reduce the lead when a ball which was injected into the circle rebounded agonisingly off the crossbar of the Bann goal.

Bann managed to see out the rest of the half and now travel to North Down Seconds, which looks like a crucial game in the Junior League Two group.
