It started at a fast pace and within a couple of minutes Portadown won a short corner after a foot in the D.

The short was taken expertly and they scored a nice low drag to the left, 0-1. Banbridge were on the back foot for the next few minutes, but won a short corner themselves.

Adam Marshall attempted a drag, but it was saved well by the Portadown keeper only for the ball to fall to Matthew Hurst to tap in past the helpless defence for 1-1.

Bann then started to control the game and Gary Dean cut through the defence to pass across goal for Armstrong to score p with a deft low strike.

The Bann defence absorbed all the attacks in the second half. At the other end, the forwards attacked at pace several times during the half. They left it until the last ten minutes to score again.

Armstrong controlled the ball well in the D and fired past the keeper for 3-1.

As if this wasn’t enough, Gary Dean burned past the midfield and defence to score a marvellous goal high past the keeper for 4-1.

This was the final score in a fantastically disciplined and well deserved victory. Banbridge Fourths conclude their season at home to Instonians Thirds on Saturday 16th April.
