Last Tuesday night, the club hosted the very tough Quarry Race, featuring eight laps of a two and a half mile circuit.

To make matters worse, the riders had to endure eight climbs up a really tough hill which would no doubt sap them every time they went up.

The 20 riders were split into four groups.

The way the race panned out, it came down to the remainder of the A3 and A4 group but on the last lap there was only one A4 rider left in that group.

There were some very good riders in this group, including the Wheelers’ Mark, John Kernaghan, Darren Lynas and Matt McKinstry.

They joined riders such as Rod Stewart, and Nathan Mullan.

In the very fast last lap, it was Darren who sprinted to the win with Mark second and Matt third.

Saturday Club Run

Six riders left Tesco on Saturday at 9am with a little light drizzle. Clive, Allister, Matt, Davy, Rod,and Andy headed to Markethill, then to Keady where Cive and Allister headed over the mountain. The rest headed to Armagh with most getting in and around 70 mile.It turned out a beautiful day and all home safe.
