Danny steals the show in the Sunday Sweep

SUNDAY AUGUST 8 - Graeme Woodcock was the worthy winner of the Sunday sweep but the player with the most to smile about was undoubtedly Danny O'Boyle.

Not only did he pick up second prize but he also had the only two of the day and scooped the entire pot.

1st, Graeme Woodcock (17) Nett 29.5; 2nd, Danny O’Boyle (15) Nett 30.5; 3rd, Noel Kilpatrick (15) Nett 30.5.

MONDAY AUGUST 9 - Barrie McCoy is definitely a man in form. He finished in fourth place in the Mervyn Guy Memorial competition on Saturday, got his handicap cut, then went out and won the Monday sweep. Barrie has done enough to regain his place on the Junior Cowdy cup team.

1st, Barrie McCoy (19) 35 points; 2nd, Colin Wilton (4) 32; 3rd, Robert Clydesdale (21) 32.

THURSDAY AUGUST 12 - Lee Willdridge and Gerry McBrien form a wonderful partnership when they make music on the stage. They are also inseparable when it comes to the golf course. They both shot 38 points in this Thursday Open and they both finished in the prizes.

1st, Mervyn Campbell (13) 39; 2nd, Morris Phillips (16) 39; 3rd, Lee Willdridge (17) 38; 4th, Gerry McBrien (21) 38. Gross: Alastair McCully (3) 72.
