Damp week fails to deter Rockmount’s golfers

WITH only two more Saturdays in February qualifying for the match-play stages of the winter league is becoming a very tense affair.

The light persistent rain did not deter a good turnout on Saturday for the start of week 14 of Rockmount Golf Club’s 2012/2013 competition.

Marten Mearns (13) was the out-right winner with a score of 30 points. Second and third place scored the same score 29 points with Michael McCormick (6) second on count back and Tony Wilson (20) third.

In league A, ‘Handcuffed to an Idiot’ are on 725 but last week’s second placed team, ‘Reece’s Wonders’ 713 have been pushed down to third; ‘Anything but Hockey’ 717 re-assuming second place.
