Connor and Rory win away to give Bann a chance in B&D

Banbridge have an enviable record in the Belfast and District Cup and, because of that, they got a bye into the third round.

Their opponents Clandeboye had to beat Masereene and Cliftonville to reach the same stage.

The first leg was played away at Clandeboye.

As expected, Connor Doran and Rory Leonard won the two top games.

Another win from the remaining five players would be a useful bonus.

Jonathan Ward, Matthew Mallon and Luke Woods all came very close, all three losing on the final green.

Barry Tumelty and Conor Mulholland just didn’t get as far as the 18th green.

A 2-5 defeat is not too bad in this competition. Team captain, Richard Kilpatrick, will expect to reverse that score in the home leg on Sunday 26th June.

It’s bound to be an exciting finish.
