Paul Wilkinson was the fastest with a 23.31. Paul has 22s on this road, but the strong windy conditions made for slower times.

Brandon and Dave were the only other two riders to get into the 24s, no doubt they will be a bit disappointed as they are very capable of 23s, but a 24 is a very decent time.

Once again, a massive ‘thank you’ to all who turned up to ride.

This week is the Wheelers’ last road race of the season, the Imperial Cup, which is being held on the Donacloney Course. This is a tough wee course and five laps will test the riders on the night.

The race starts at Hayes Pipes and finishes 100 yards up from the start line.

Last Friday night three riders from West Down Wheelers rode the National Criterium Championships.

With a star studded line-up, the three riders got it tough, but can hold their heads high as some very talented riders got it tough as well. Brandon, Dave and Ian showed they have guts to enter such a tough event.

On Saturday, Matt, Paul, Brandon and Andy headed to Dromore to compete in the John Beggs Memorial Races, well known as one of the toughest races on the calender. Andy and Matt found the going tough, Brandon punctured and Paul was the pick of the Wheelers on the day.

Once again, well done to the guys who gave rode in most of the races this year to represent the Wheelers.
