Comfortable win for U16s

FOLLOWING a convincing win against Annaderg in the opening game of the season Clann na Banna U16s played host to Attical last Thursday evening in their second game of the season. Clann started brightly and an early goal from Liam McGarry set the tone for the remainder of the game.

Clann na Banna's dominance at midfield allowed them to move the ball forward for a number of well taken scores which included seven first half goals.

A number of positional switches early in the second half led to a tighter contest but the Clann forwards put on a fine display of shooting with some well taken points.

In the end a comfortable victory for the U16 team but there will be tougher assignments this season, none more so than the visit of Longstone to Cottage Parkthis Thursday evening (throw in 7pm).

The Under 16 management would like to welcome a number of the U14 players into the panel for the remainder of the season. Michael Mallon, Michael Loughlin, Eoin Monagan and Shane Campbell all made the step up to U16 football and all looked more than comfortable playing against older players.
