Colin scores first sweep win of the year

MONDAY APRIL 19: Only one player won more sweeps than Colin McKinney last season and that was Alan Dale.

Neither of them has been very successful this time round. This was Colin’s first win and that is one more than Alan.

Colin had something else to be happy about. He split the twos pot with Alastair McCully.

1st, Colin McKinney (13) 33 points; 2nd, Garth McGregor (13) 31; 3rd, Albert Morrison (18) 31.

THURSDAY APRIL 22 - Joe Glass has had a relatively quiet season so far and maybe this sweep win will signal the start of something good.

And it’s good to see that Alastair McCully has emerged from his winter hibernation.

1st, Joe Glass (15) 34; 2nd, Jonathan Shannon (5) 33; 3rd, Alastair McCully (3) 33.

SUNDAY APRIL 25 - It’s a warm welcome back to the golf club for Stephen Wilton. He hasn’t played for a while but he doesn’t seem to have lost any of his ability.

It will be interesting to watch how the Wilton Trio of Colin, David and Stephen perform this season. They are all mighty fine golfers.

Incidentally, Colin Dowds scooped the entire twos pot.

1st, Stephen Wilton (15) Nett 31.5; 2nd, Damian Weir (5) Nett 32.5.

MONDAY APRIL 26 - Colin McKinney’s season is up and rolling. This was his second successive win in the Monday sweep.

The twos pot was split between John Crothers and Cathal O’Neill.

1st, Colin McKinney (13) 33 points; 2nd, Dennis Watt (17) 31.
