Banbridge Academy made it three in a row with a hard fought win over Lurgan College last Saturday.
It took a Daniel McElderry penalty to separate the sides at the interval. Five minutes into the second half Academy flanker Jonny Campbell took advantage of a charge down to dive over for the opening try, which went unconverted.
The lead was extended to 13 points when Nathan McKinley intercepted a Lurgan pass and raced away from the cover to touch down.
Lurgan grabbed an unconverted try late in the game to leave Bann worthy winners on a 13-5 scoreline.
The Seconds proved much too good for their Lurgan College opponents, coming out on the right side of a 47-14 result.
Ryan Pickering had no competition for the man-of-the-match accolade as he accounted for four of the seven tries his team scored. Stevie Reddick, Corin McCluskey and Samuel McCracken also crossed the Lurgan line, with the latter recording an impressive six from seven conversion attempts.
Academy’s Medallion side maintained their successful run of results with a 22-5 win over Lurgan College.
