Classes on offer for the area’s coaches

Last week saw the launch of the Southern Sports Partnership (SSP) Coach Education and Club Development Programme for 2014 – 2015 which offers development opportunities for coaches and those involved in running a sports club.

The SSP is a working group which covers seven local authority areas: Armagh City & District, Banbridge District, Cooskstown District, Craigavon Borough, Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough, Magherafelt District and Newry & Mourne District.

The Partnership has a vision for strengthening sporting pathways that exist within their region and beyond.

To help achieve this goal the SSP delivers a range of programmes focusing on participant pathways and coach and club development.

This year’s Coach Education programme offers a mixture of minimum operating standards workshops such as Safeguarding Children and Young People, Designated Officer and First Aid training, sports specific qualifications including an IFA Level 1 and a GAA Award 1 plus a number of other courses including SafeTALK and the Sport NI’s Club Leaders workshops.
