Clann na Derg U12s get a win

HAVING managed a draw in their first encounter earlier in the season, Clann na Derg U12 had a point to prove on Tuesday evening at home against Saval.

The opening point came from corner back, Odhran McMullan quickly followed by two Eoin Scullion points and one from Sean Casey.

Saval were holding steady with a goal and three points by the second quarter when Scullion stepped up to score the first in a series of the team’s first half goals.

Full forward Jack Campbell added another two which was matched with further goals from Keelan Quigley and Odhran McMullan. Half time saw the local side take a comfortable nine point lead.

A slower start to the second half saw both sides trade points with Keelan Quigley and Sean Casey maintaining Clann na Derg’s lead.

The same two shared goals along with another Jack Campbell pile driver to ensure victory was secured. Some great defence play was evident with Jordan Campbell, Fearghal Vaughan and Conall Diamond.

Cailum Meara has been missed from play following a serious accident. Players and officials from Clann na Banna and Aghaderg wish Cailum a speedy recovery.
