Celebration time as Slane secure Section Two

Moneyslane U10s 3

Damolly Cubs U10s 1

WITH two games in the league remaining for the U10s two wins would be needed to be sure of winning Section Two.

Slane started the stronger with Joel Hayes and Ethan Banks combining well to test the Cubs keeper.

Picking up the pace, David Baxter found Max Wilson in space and rounded the Cubs defence to unleash an unstoppable shot to go one up.

This gave confidence to the young team and Joshua Crawford dribbled down the right flank and crossed to find Jordan Davis who calmly slotted in for Slane's second before the break.

Wilson fell back in defence to let Ryan Sloane push up and he picked up from Davis's shot to top in and finish off the Cubs.

Just before the whistle, Slane failed to clear after a good save from Bready and let Damolly get a consolation goal.

Best for Moneyslane was Max Wilson.

Dominating from the start, Joel Hayes used his strength to push past and find the corner to settle 'Slane' nerves.

Starting to play some good football, Crawford and Wilson spread the play to find the on-running Hayes and hit first time to get his second of the day.

Keeping things tight at the back, Baxter made his presence felt giving Bready an easy morning's work.

Both Davis and Banks had efforts well saved as Moneyslane never eased off. This proved to be Hayes' game as he broke clear and rounded the last defender and knock in for his hat-trick.
