Bann had a slow first half, allowing Knock the chance to enter the circle. However, a strong line of defence consisting of Katie Uprichard, Naomi Haugh, Jayne Scott and Emma Murphy cleared the ball effortlessly to ensure the scores remained 0-0.

Banbridge continued to have most of the possession throughout the half and showed great play up the left hand side of the pitch between Lynda McKinley and Jessica Faulkner.

A short corner was won by Bann but unfortunately these chances weren’t converted into goals.

Play moved back into Bann’s defensive circle where Knock won a penalty corner. This was expertly saved by keeper, Andi Martin, making the half time score 0-0.

With Sarah Dale joining the defensive line, balls were distributed quickly to Eli Robinson and Caitlyn Lyness in midfield.

Excellent passing between Eli and Caitlyn was rewarded with a short corner for Bann.

Punam McGookin played a great strike out to Emma Leeper at the top of the circle and she calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net.

Shortly after, a great ball from Sarah Dale found Amy Gray who ran the pitch, entered the circle and struck the ball past Knock’s keeper.

It was a great effort from the whole team and the player of the match was awarded to Caitlyn Lyness.
