THE weekend event was a qualifying competition played in four-ball better ball format with the winners representation the club in the Ireland Mail on Sunday inter-club knock-out competition.
Club green keeper Ronnie Engall teamed up with his son-in-law Colin McConaghie to claim victory with a grand total of 44 points.
With 21 points after nine after Colin opened with a birdie four they added 23 over the back nine with the highlight a birdie four at the 14th by Ronnie to win by two points from the runners-up pairing of Sam Reid and Denis James after opening with 19 points despite blanking the 5th they added 23 over the back nine for a total of 42 points.
Ronnie and Colin will meet a pair from neighbouring Club Kilrea with the match scheduled to be played at the Trout.
