Brian and Joe E. are top scorers at Omagh

ROUND eight of the Mid-Ulster Senior Alliance was played at Omagh Golf Club last Monday.

Banbridge are not really in contention for a top three finish but they will certainly try to end the league on a positive note.

Team captain, Jack Bickerstaff, sent a strong team to Omagh and they scored reasonably well over a testing course, which was in excellent condition.

Brian Parkes scored 34 points, Joe E. Hamilton scored 34 points and both Brian Mulholland and Seamus McGrath scored 33 points.

That gave Banbridge a team score of 134 points, good but not spectacular.

The other four players for Banbridge were Andy Murphy, Bobby Geddis, Verdun Bond and Felix Duffy.

The ninth round will be played at Spa Golf Club on Monday August 23.
