Brave Academy girls fail in bid to make history

Banbridge Academy girls’ hockey team failed in their make history this afternoon (Wednesday) as Sullivan Upper lifted the Senior Schools’ Cup with a 2-1 victory.

Sarah Russel scored the opener for Banbridge after 16 minutes before Zara Malseed made it all square three minutres later.

Sullivan took the lead with a well worked set piece as Malseed flicked it to Katharine Hill who fired home. 2-1.

Banbridge had never reached the final before today whereas Sullivan have reached it twice but lost the 2008 decider against Royal School Armagh and shared the trophy after a goalless draw with Glenlola College back in 1980.
