Not only do Old Bleach stand in Dunbarton’s way of Irish Senior Cup success but the Randalstown side could also prevent the locals from winning the league.

“I’d be delighted to get three six point finishes this week,” said DJ Wilson. “If we win all three, we will be very close.

“If we lose one of our last four, we might have to rely on the game between Ballymena and Belmont so we have to go in looking to win all four.”

As regards coming up against their Cup opponents two days before the all important showpiece occasion, Wilson doesn’t think Thursday’s victors will hold much of an advantage on Saturday.

“It will be strange,” he said. “I’d rather have played them at home on Thursday because we’re so strong at home. Nobody is coming close to beating us, we’re hammering teams every week in Gilford. They’re a hard team to beat away.

“The form books will go out the window on Saturday anyway though because it’s a Cup final at a neutral venue.

“Our backlog of fixtures now is because we don’t have floodlights. We’re in bad need of them at our green,” he concluded.
