OLD and new members will be made welcome this Saturday, April 16 at 1.30pm when the opening of the green for the new season at Dromore Bowling Club will take place.

Mrs Stephanie Herron, daughter of the club’s late President Tommy Hewitt, will perform the duties of playing the first jack and bowl.

A points competition will take place with a prize for the best lady and gent after which refreshments will be served.

This year the club will be playing in the first division and will be competing against strong opposition with the division only having 10 clubs with home and away games.

In NIBA Senior Cup Dromore are away to Clarendon and Irish Senior Cup home to Coleraine.

The Juniors are in division six and will be hoping to do well in the NIBA Junior Cup, playing Newtownabbey in the first round and in the Irish Junior Cup Dromore have got a bye.

On Saturday April 30 the seniors are away to Whitehead and the juniors are at home to Windsor.

Members please note that on opening day white shirts, tie and grey trousers are to be worn.

- MULLABRACK Indoor Bowling Club are holding their annual triples tournament soon.

It will run from Monday April 25-Friday April 29 with play resuming on Monday May 2 to Wednesday May 4 .The finals will be held on Friday May 6.
