Big fish are on the move at Islandderry Fishery

THE big fish are still on the move at Islandderry Fishery with alot of anglers releasing some good quality, fin and tail perfect trout.

Belfast angler Sean Gibson was fishing a lime green fritz to release over 30 trout on the main lake in two days which included a couple of 5lb, 6lb and a lovely 7lb12 trout caught of the jetty on the main lake on Saturday.

Orange blobs on a floating line was doing the job for Newcastle anglers Joe Strain and Carl McCabe releasing 25 trout between them on the main lake while Ballynahinch angler Jason Mackin fished the Hollow Springs lake for the first time and went home with a total of 12 released on a black and green fritz.

The next competition on the lake will be the fifth round of the winter league on Saturday. There will be alot of events in the upcoming months at the fishery for both juniors and seniors with competitions for both fly and bait fishing.
