In last week’s Leader, Kerr warned that the side have another gear to hit and it certainly showed with a devastating display at Havelock.

Bann started well and were very much on the front foot in the opening minutes, creating good chances that made the Ballyclare keeper and defence work hard.

Gail McConnell, Amy Atkinson and Elayne Brown all combined in the centre to create countless chances.

Ballyclare didn’t hold out long before Banbridge broke through with a well placed pass from Gail McConnell in midfield to find Cathy Rees upfront, Rees rounding the defence and slipping it across the goal for Samantha Bann to tap in.

Banbridge continued their attacking form adding a second soon after, this time a confident run from Heather Johnson in midfield saw her cross-field ball cut out by Ballyclare defence only for the ball to fall to captain Gail McConnell for a terrific edge of the circle shot which fired past the Ballyclare keeper to make it 2-0 Bann.

Banbridge continued to work hard all over the pitch, the back line of Charlie Brush, Jenny Grimes and Gina Woods along with keeper Sarah McCabe were rarely troubled and well drilled in keeping their clean sheet.

Bann again broke forward with Samantha Bann left side of midfield playing a neat ball into Elayne Brown whose shot rebounded of the keeper to Rachel Kerr who pushed the ball goal ward for Megan Whan to tap in for a third.

The fourth Bann goal came immediately after the third with a great piece of play from Charlie Brush into Heather Johnson passing the ball forward to Rachel Kerr who lifted the ball through the defence and around the keeper for a fourth Banbridge Goal just before the half time break.

The second half continued a lot like the first as Bann continued to attack, however, could not find a way passed the Ballyclare keeper.

Hard work from midfield duo Elayne Brown and Gail McConnell again paid off as Elayne brown ran around the outside of the circle slipped the ball across the gaol for Samantha Bann to claim her second of the match.
