banN’S CHAMPIONS I SPOT IS CONFIRMED

Banbridge will play in the Champions Challenge I competition next season after Eurohockey confirmed their place in the tournament.

There were hopes that Bann would be fielding a team in the European Trophy competition as runners-up in the Irish Hockey League last season.

Normally that would have been the case, with the IHL winners qualifying for the European Hockey League, but because Ireland have slipped down hockey’s European rankings the island has lost its one automatic place for the continent’s top competition.
