Bann U15s slay Pegasus

ON Friday night Banbridge Hockey Club girls under 15s travelled to play Pegasus U15s in their cup competition.

The strength of centre midfielder Jenny Wilson continued to cause Pegasus trouble, she found a direct route to the ‘D’ and when the forwards were unable to capitalise on her through ball Katie followed up to take a well deserved second phase goal.

In a great piece of play after a strong interception Vicky Berry passed the ball to Jenny Wilson, who had found space well in the middle of the pitch, a wide ball to the right sideline found forward Hannah Thompson who drove with strength to the ‘D’ before making a strong cross which was finished at the far post by Clare.

On one of the Banbridge team’s second half attacks the Pegasus defence was caught high on the pitch and a strong counter attack from Pegasus left their striker one on one with goal keeper Clara Cromie came out well and shut down the angle making a good save to keep the score at 2-0.

Continued pressure from Pegasus lead to a short corner but Banbridge were able to keep the shot away from goal. End to end play carried on till the end of the game but neither team were able to create any further clear chances.

The Banbridge girls will look forward to their next game and hope to carry on their passing focus.
