TWO Banbridge U13 boys teams played against Portadown, Raphoe and South Antrim but without some key players found it a difficult task.
Banbridge A team played Portadown A and although coming close with several shots just wide of the goal ended up losing 1-0 with a sloppy goal against them.
The second game finished with a draw with Joel Reid and Aaron Wheeler unlucky not to score. Kelvin Nash worked tirelessly in the midfield distributing numerous balls to his forwards. The final game against South Antrim was a credit to the boys with a well deserved 1-0 win.
Scott McCandless, head junior coach, commented that this is a team with lots of potential and given the right direction should develop into an exciting team in the future.
Banbridge B team, consisting of year 8 pupils and two under 11 boys standing in to help most definitely did the club proud.
Although they did not win any matches they certainly did not let themselves down. The boys are gaining valuable experience playing in an older age group and this will benefit them next year.
