Bann Seconds smash past Queen's to take the points

Banbridge Seconds beat Queens Seconds 41-5 on Saturday.

The home side started with a strong wind at their backs and were well marshalled into position by half backs Jeff Dodds and Macauley Little, sustaining pressure in the Queen’s “22” until they won a penalty which was converted by Little.

Bann’s game plan of playing for territory was serving them well.

Little’s long probing kicks, chased well by Ben Cross and Adam Stirling, often saw Queen’s get in trouble deep in their own half.

Bann’s next score set the tone for the remainder of the half.

A scrum at close range allowed a pick up and try from No8 and man of the match Richard Graham. He repeated the dose twice more before the break to leave the home side with a 22-0 lead at half-time.

The second half continued in similar fashion with Graham crossing again for his fourth try of the match.

Centre Cameron Cromie also got in on the act, before Queen’s got a breakaway consolation try.

Loosehead prop Lee Geddis was to have the final say when after a strong surge upfield, he rumbled over the line for the final score, with Little adding his fourth conversion before the referee blew the final whistle early, with 20 minutes left on the clock.
