Bann Seconds fall just short as experience shows through

Bann Seconds started their first match against Bangor Thirds well, with Bann keeping their own centre passes and gaining some steals.

With several of the starting seven missing, Bann had to re-arrange their team with some of Bann Thirds playing up.

The court play was excellent and created some great interceptions.

At quarter time Bann had a one goal advantage. Bann 12 – 11 Bangor.

During the next quarter, there was some excellent attacking play from Thirds player Orla Murray in WA and Kerri Patterson in C who provided some excellent feeds into the circle.

The shooters put up some great shots and managed to resist the huge defensive pressure from Bangor 3.

At half time, Helen Monaghan moved into GA and Kerri Patterson Moved into C. Bann 22 – 22 Bangor.

This gave Bann and the game some new energy.

Through the last half, the defensive players worked extremely hard gaining some great interceptions in Bangor’s shooting circle. Although the whole team worked hard throughout the whole game, Bangor’s years of experience showed through and they pulled the score out to end the match 5 goals ahead. Bann 46 – 51 Bangor.
