In the first leg at home, Colin’s team looked as if they were going to take a 4-0 lead into the second leg.

Dominic Quinn and James Bryson won the top game in some style, by 5 and 4.

Brian Knox and Darren Barker played very well to win by 2 up.

Banbridge were ahead for long periods in the last two games but they couldn’t finish the job.

Gerry Blevins and Robert Haire were disappointed to lose by 2 and 1.

Aidan Doran and Sean McGreevey, two very experienced players, managed to pull a defeat from the jaws of victory. They lost by 2 holes down.

So, at the halfway stage, the score is level at 2 games each.

The second leg is next Sunday and Rossmore must be favourites to advance.

But, you never know, golf is a funny game.
