The game started with Banbridge taking complete control in the first fifteen minutes.

The forwards had several glorious chances to put the team ahead, but unfortunately couldn’t successfully penetrate the Cookstown defence.

They also won several short corners, but the opposition defence quickly smothered the danger.

Cookstown scored a goal against the run of play.

A quick free was taken on the right of the D. The defence had switched off and allowed an attacker to weave past and expertly punish them.

The second goal came from a short corner. The ball being placed bottom left of the goal, passing the defender on the post.

Cookstown built up more and more pressure before the break.

After half time Banbridge switched the team around with Aaron McConnell dropping into defence to help shore it up and Roger Martin was pushed into centre midfield to conduct some more attacking play for Banbridge.

The second half belonged completely to Banbridge, with Cookstown offering very little at all. Alas, their continuous attack was unable to break through the resilient Cookstown defence.
