Banbridge stars fetch five medals and a ribbon

The Banbridge Campus of the Southern Regional College were delighted when students who participated in the Special Olympics All-Ireland Games proudly presented the five medals they had won.

Jill Connery won gold playing golf (nine holes), Rebecca Devlin lifted a gold, silver and bronze for swimming and Denise Fegan won Silver in Bocce.

David Wharburton also received a ribbon for placing fourth in Golf.

Since participating in the games, Jill Connery has been successfully selected to compete in the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles in July for Team Ireland.

The SRC would like to congratulate everyone on their success and wish Jill the very best for Los Angeles next year.

Jill is now busy balancing her time between the College and the golf course as she prepares for the Games.
