Banbridge Netball Club are the top club in Northern Ireland.

They have been officially named as Club of the Year, presented with their award at the recent Netball Northern Ireland AGM.

The award is handed out to the club that meets a host of vast-ranging criteria that include the organisation of the club, sportmanship, Clubmark accreditation, junior and social playing opportunities, competition entries, volunteering and player progression.

The accolade marks another huge step forward in the progress of the local club and news of their win brought much delight to the girls.

“We are absolutely delighted to receive the Club of the Year award,” said a club spokesperson.

“Over the past number of years, the Club’s Committee have worked extremely hard.

“Clubmark accreditation in 2013 was a major achievement for us and from this we have had a clearer and more focused direction.
