This was Bann’s first team meeting Bangor in the league so with a full squad they were very eager to extract a win from this game.

Bann knew this game was not going to be easy by any means, and the girls ensured they put a lot pressure on Bangor to force errors from a strong Bangor side.

Bann’s attackers worked the ball enthusiastically down the court with Emma Boyd (C) and Lynn Wilson (WA) producing some lovely feeds into shooters Sarah Aiken (GA) and Emma Cartmill (GS).

The girls’ shooting was on top form with shots being taken and scored from all around the shooting circle.

Bann’s attack also put on a strong defensive front when the ball was being played from their shooting circle up to the Bangor shooting circle.

After an impressive first half performance from Bann they led Bangor going into the second half.

Bann went into the second half determined to maintain their lead over Bangor.

Bann’s talented defensive pairing of Christine Cartmill (GK) and Cathy Buchanan (GD) took some beautiful interceptions from Bangor’s attack and tried their best to win any rebounds following shots taken by Bangors shooters.

Joanne Kerr (WD) and Emma Boyd (C) used man to man marking to ensure as much pressure as possible was put on Bangor’s attack to prevent easy passes being made into the shooting circle.
