Ballyvally sign off the indoor season in fine fashion

Ballyvally Archery Club’s last indoor shoot of the season took place last Thursday with almost 100 members taking part.

From this Thursday, all members are advised that the summer sessions move outdoors to the wooded courses starting from 6pm.

Some really great scores were recorded at the indoor tournament in Banbridge Leisure Centre.

In the Under 10 class, the overall winners were Rachel Whelan for the girl and Leon Wilson for the boys. Young Aoife McDermott (204) and Rebecca Galway (175), both aged five years shot very well. The future of the club is in safe hands!

In the Under 13 class, the overall winners were Toya Wilson and Declan McGeown. In this class, Lara Kirkwood (240) and Ross Graham (365) also shot very well.

In the Under 18 years section, Grainne Moran (420) and Niall Clements (450) were the top girl and boy, while Melissa Stewart (255) and Eden McMath (405) did themselves proud.

In the senior ladies sections, the top lady was Morgan Russell-Cowan (490), who won shooting compound unlimited while Patricia McClean (ladies barebow) ran her a close second on 465.

In the gents sections, John Gibson won the less experienced class with a handicap score of 525 while Sam Jackson just pipped Gary Mulligan in the more experienced class.
