Gilford’s defence had really good game holding firm in the first half and holding City well with help from their midfield who were simply brilliant and covered every inch of grass between them in the first half helping out their defence and also putting together some great moves in attack.

Gilford made two changes at half time to freshen up the tired midfield.

They started the second half in top form and soon had their second goal this move started with a great ball form Niall Toner to O’Neill. He passed to Lenny who crossed to Connor Magee, he headed the ball out to the feet of Jason McConnell who was 30 yards out and with an outstanding shot rifled the ball into the top corner to leave the City keeper with no chance of saving it.

Gilford thought they were home and dry and took their foot of the gas, letting City back into the game with a soft goal to make it 2-1.
