N. Tumilty put them one nil up before J. Lyttle equalised for the home side.

However, The Anglers have been very strong in the singles this year and continued to be so with wins from B.Burns then BJ and Cathal McAnearney guaranteeing them at least a point with three frames to play.

P.McLean nicked one back before B.Burns and D.Armstrong earned The Anglers victory. J.Lyttle made it 2 wins on the night when he and D.Mulligan won a consolation in the last frame.

Market Bar B 5 Imperial 3: This Market Bar B team just keep plugging away. Having gone 2-0 down to wins from I Wilson and A Corbet, they won five on the bounce to send them third in the table!

P McStraw G Graham A Barr and P Beggs won 4 singles matches in a row to guarantee the draw before the doubles matches had even taken place.

Momentum carried into the doubles as they went on to beat the formidable pair of I Wilson and R Kerr to guarantee victory with the frame to spare!

Gilford Inn 5 Mullhollands B 3: Gilford got their first win of the season after a shaky start to their Campaign.

P Grey got the ball rolling for Gilford but S Wilson equalised for Mullhollands.

Team captain B Campbell won for Gilford before D McCavans made it 3-1 to the home side.

However, the home team had been in this position before and things didn’t look good when P winters and M Jardine pulled it back to 3 all with only the doubles matches remaining.

L McClusky and B Campbell won the first doubles match to guarantee a point with a “4-ball-finish” before B Finn and P Grey took out quite a hard, pressure finish when the other pair had the blackball over the pocket to get there first win of the season!

First & Last 3 Railway 5: D Paxton put the Railway one up to maintain his 100% record before team captain Gary Murphy made it 2-0 with a win over “Jungle Johnny” who had several chances on the blackball but failed to capitalise.

B McCourt made his debut in a stylish fashion to give the first and last some hope at 2-1 down, but J McGivern also kept his 100% record for the railway making it 3-1.

M Lyness and C Parrott pulled it back to level the match before the doubles. That would be C Parrott’s 100% record still intact too!

It has become apparent since the introduction of the doubles this season that records count for nothing as the formidable pairing of publican B Lyness and former individual champion B McCourt were beaten by the number one and two pairing of D Paxton and Team captain G Murphy.

It was now time for F&L team captain “Rambo” to step up to the plate with his star player C Parrott, but after a whole lot of negotiating which shot to play D Murphy fired the black in the pocket as his partner rejoiced.

The Railway retain their spot in joint first for another week!

O’Reillys 3 Bridge Bar B 5: O’Reillys must wish that they could play their matches over the first two frames as they seem to go two nil up nearly every week!

Unfortunately for them they seem to fall apart nearly every week as well.

Having been given their lead by team captain N Monaghan and B Moss they lost five of the last six including four in a row to get beat 5-3. Wins from R Hunter M Ricer A Dean levelled the match before the doubles then R Hunter and R Connell guaranteed the Bridge B a point before A Dean and M Ricer got them their first win of the season.
