All Ireland finals for Academy

THE Ulster Schools Badminton Finals were held recently on Friday March 5 at Lisburn's Racquet Club.

Banbridge Academy were represented at the Junior Boys Level in the Division Two final and played Wallace High School.

After an entertaining set of Double games, the score was level at one game all but Banbridge Academy were just ahead by three sets to two.

Chris Johns and Matthew Beck both won their single matches 2 sets to love, while Michael Young and Chris Watt both lost theirs two sets to love.

This left the match at three games all but Banbridge Academy won 7-6 on sets.

The boys now go on to represent Ulster at the forthcoming All Ireland Finals at Gormanstown College on Wednesday March 24.
