Aaron makes history with third title

TALENTED Hillsborough boy, Aaron Spence has made history in Quad Racing by securing three titles in one season of racing.

Aaron’s interest in Quads started when he was just five years old. His talent was obvious and his family were advised to take him to a local racing event to gage his ability. Aaron won his very first event and decided to pursue his verural talent and he entered for the 2010 season which he achieved 3rd place in the Irish Youth 250c championships. 2011 saw him take the Irish Youth 250cc Championship and the local club “North Armagh Junior Quad Club” title.

In 2012 the season began with three coveted titles up for grabs, the Irish, British and Ulster Championships. Aaron’s season got off to the best possible start when he won the British 250cc title in August. In September with one round remaining Aaron also clinched the Ulster 250cc championship. In October at the final round of the Irish championship Aaron delivers - 3rd title and history had been made by the youngster. Aaron has achieved what nobody has achieved before by taking all three titles in one season.

Aaron Spence clearly has a natural talent when it comes to Quad Racing. He is very commited to his sport and hopes to begin international competition in the future. Next season he will compete at senior level, racing 450cc in the Ulster and Irish Competitions.

Aaron’s younger bother Ross seems to be following in his footsteps, he also won the Ulster 50cc championship this year and the local “Co Down Junior Quad Club” 50cc championship. Congratulations to both brothers and hopefully they will continue to perform at this standard and best of luck to them in the future.
