Youth initiative success for clubs

ACTIVE senior members from Seven Derrys Youth Club Aghagallon and John Mitchell Youth Club Derrymore, have successfully completed their seven week SELB Craigavon Loughshore Youth Initiative, training programme.

The programme gave participants the opportunity to learn the necessary youth work skills to become trained senior members.

The programme also included a links-inter club visit to Sarsfields Youth Club and an overnight stay at the Greenhill YMCA in Newcastle.

The young people received their certificates from SELB Loughshore Rural Youth Worker John Ritchie, for many of these participants this is a first step in becoming youth workers.

Under the leadership of Seven Derrys Youth Club Leader in Charge Catherine Woods participants will meet in two weeks time to discuss their short term action plan, which includes mission hoodies and other exciting events over the next four months.
