The event is organised by the EA Youth Service in partnership with Banbridge District Twinning Association.

The exchange is open to any young person living, or attending school, within the Banbridge District, aged between 14 to 17 years.

Applicants should have a keen interest in meeting new people and experiencing another culture as they will be hosted by French families through a home stay arrangement.

While knowledge of French would be an advantage it is not a requirement for the exchange, however a willingness to try will be anticipated.

This year they will visit France for one week in July and some group members will have previously hosted so they will be able to give new participants a flavour of what to expect.

Banbridge District Twinning Association and the Youth Service will contribute towards travel costs to France so this will reduce the cost of the trip significantly for participants.

Successful applicants will be expected to meet regularly prior to the exchange, to get to know each other and to prepare for the visit. While in France participants can expect a packed programme of social and educational activities.

The group will meet together on a daily basis to experience some of best attractions and activities the area has to offer and to share experiences with the French partners.

Immersing yourself in the local culture is an essential part of the whole experience so spending time with a French family is a vital part of this experience, the families love to get involved and provide a very welcoming home stay.
