Who's a good boy? Police dog Sid steals show in local arrest

The perky pup has been praised for helping catch an alleged thief in Lisburn on Tuesday.

Sid and his handler responded to a report of the theft of electronic equipment at Sprucefield Shopping Centre.

The suspect crossed a small river to try to evade capture but Sid also followed through the water and the suspect was arrested and the goods recovered.

A police spokesperson said they arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of theft following the incident, who has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
