The annual event, which raises thousands of pounds towards Kidney Research sees the village packed with classic cars, tractors and vehicles of all shapes and sizes. This year’s Cavalcade will take place on Friday 24 June from 6pm onwards.

Commenting after attending Kidney Research’s Executive Group Meeting last Wednesday evening local Ulster Unionist Assembly MLA Jo-Anne Dobson said: “Kidney Research is a marvellous charity where all funds raised are invested in research and treatment of kidney disease directly for the benefit of the people of Northern Ireland.

“The promotion of organ donation is the Charities key goal and I have been delighted to have their continued support throughout my own campaign to promote organ donation and indeed update our local laws at Stormont.

“Indeed I was grateful for the opportunity to address the charity members at their Executive Meeting and assure them, that I will be continuing the fight to keep organ donation at the fore-front of the Department of Health’s agenda.

“It was also great to catch up on the evening with three eminent renal experts, Surgical Trainee Conor Warren, Consultant Surgeon James McDaid and retired consultant Dr James Douglas which shows the level of support and commitment the charity has from those on the front-line of the medical profession.

“Just as the charity has stood shoulder to shoulder with me, it’s a privilege to once again support their Vintage Cavalcade in my home village of Waringstown.
