Wesley will be ‘deeply missed’

He was the son of the late Samuel and Jane Magill.

After leaving school Wesley worked with the Copes Family and then moved on to Ty Rock Portadown. He then went on to work for the late Dessie Chambers Builders and before moving to Gibson Brothers where he stayed until his retirement.

He was well known and of a quiet and friendly disposition.

Wesley was a member of the Loyal Orders being a member of Sterritt Memorial LOL 257 and a Sir Knight of Mount Horeb RBP 27. He was a member of the B Specials being identified with the Glascar Platoon and then joined the Ulster Defence Regiment.

His hobbies were enjoying football, a friendly game of darts and he loved socialising with many people.

He will be deeply missed by his brothers Cecil, Walter, Sidney and Norman, sisters-in-law Pauline, Myrna, Lorna and Barbara, many nephews and nieces, his uncle Marshall, aunt Laura Weir, and cousins of the Magill and Weir family circle. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

His funeral took place from his home to Donaghmore Parish Churchyard on Wednesday. Brian Adamson Chairman of Banbridge Branch Committee of the Royal British Legion recited ‘They shall grow not old’ and the rest of the members dropped poppies into the grave. Canon GN Little officiated at the home and graveside. Family flowers were placed on the grave.

arrangements.
