Was abusive to passers-by and threw traffic cones at vehicles

A 20-year-old man who threw traffic cones at vehicles was given a suspended prison sentence last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court.

Michael Loughlin, Hillhead Close, Banbridge, admitted disorderly behaviour on November 1 this year.

The court heard that at 4.30pm Loughlin and another person were in Linenhall Street in Banbridge. The defendant was abusive and threw traffic cones at traffic.

A solicitor representing Loughlin explained that at the previous week’s court his client had been given a four month suspended sentence.

This case had involved ripping a T-shirt belonging to a barman.

The solicitor said steps to deal with the defendant’s alcohol problem had started on Monday.

District Judge Amanda Brady imposed a two month term, suspended for 12 months, to run alongside the other sentence.
